KeepMyCar Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
KeepMyCar ("the app") is a maintenance log and service history app for iPhone, operated by Smart IT US Inc. ("Smart IT," "we," "us"). This policy explains how your information is handled when you use the app. KeepMyCar is designed to keep your information on your device.
2. Information you add to the app
You add your own information to KeepMyCar, such as: your vehicles and their profile details, maintenance items, service records (including the shop or mechanic, date, mileage, and notes you enter), next-visit notes, and an optional receipt photo per service record. You choose what to enter; nothing is required beyond what you decide to add.
3. How information is stored
The information you add is stored locally on your iPhone. Your records are kept in an on-device database, and any receipt photos you attach are copied into the app's local storage on your device. We do not operate a server that receives this information.
4. Receipt photos and Photo Library access
If you choose to attach a receipt photo to a service record, the app asks your permission to access your Photo Library so you can select an image. Photo Library access is used only to let you pick a photo to attach. The selected image is copied into the app's local storage on your iPhone. The app does not browse, upload, or transmit your photo library.
5. Information collected by Smart IT
Smart IT does not receive the vehicle profiles, maintenance records, notes, mileage, or receipt photos stored in KeepMyCar. The only information we may receive is information you voluntarily send when contacting support outside the app (see "Contacting support" below).
6. Contacting support
Contacting support is optional. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information or attachments you choose to include in your message. We use that information only to respond to your request and troubleshoot the issue. KeepMyCar does not automatically send your app records, vehicle information, or receipt photos to support, and we ask that you not include private receipt images unless they are necessary to resolve your issue.
7. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
KeepMyCar does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not use advertising identifiers.
8. Accounts and sync
KeepMyCar does not require an account or login, and it does not provide a Smart IT–operated sync service. Your information is not synced to our servers.
9. Data sharing
We do not sell your information. Because your app records stay on your device, we do not receive or share them; any information you send when contacting support is used only to respond to you.
10. Data deletion
You control your information on your device. Deleting a vehicle in the app removes that vehicle's saved records and its attached receipt photos from the app's local storage. Deleting the app from your iPhone removes the app's locally stored data from the device. Please note that copies of app data may exist in iOS device or iCloud backups, which are controlled by Apple and your device settings rather than by KeepMyCar.
11. Children's privacy
KeepMyCar is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the app changes. When we do, we will update the effective date below and post the revised policy at this address.
